It is always a struggle between web design and search engines

Because they fear that some fonts may be not available, Webmasters are using graphics instead of text.To impress the visitors with animations often techniques such as Flash are used.

But search engines do not recognize Flash or images, because they browse the Web for words. This means that your well-crafted Web site may not be visited, because it cannot be found.

It is possible, to combine good design or animation with search engine friendly implementation? How it works?

Web design is often in conflict with SEO and CMS systems.    
The more complex the design is and the further it deviates from the usual , the harder it will be, to present the content search engine-friendly.

   
In this context the most important barrier for the SEO are Scripts(like JavaScript), Graphics or animation. Therefore, it is important to take these aspects into account when creating the design and offer an alternative presentation.

These things make design attractive but cannot be found by search engines:

  • Scripting Languages
     (Javascript, VB)
  • Text content in graphics
  • Flash animations and Flash navigation

And what can you do:

  • offer alternative content
  • offer alternative Navigation
  • avoid content in Flash and Graphics
  • reduce Animations, graphics and script at a minimum
